Every version kept, updates on your terms

Every version is stored and the previous one is one click away. Installed apps update automatically or only once you approve.

Software changes all the time. A new column here, a different rule there. That's fine, as long as every change has a way back. In Openbase.one, it always does.

Every version is kept

Every version of an app is stored, not just the current one. If something goes wrong after a change, you restore the previous version in one click. No ticket, no restoring from a backup, no waiting for someone in IT.

Then you describe, calmly, what should change. The next version is built and checked again before it goes live. Anything that fails the build or the check never goes live in the first place.

Updates on your terms

Apps from the App Store keep evolving. You decide when a new version reaches you, separately for each installed app:

  • Automatically: the app stays current without you doing anything. Useful for apps whose publisher you trust and that you haven't customized.
  • Only with approval: a new version is offered to you. You decide whether and when it goes live.

That applies to Openbase.one's own apps, such as Files, Mail & Phone, Meet, Bank, Payroll, Website and Wiki, just as it does to apps other teams have shared.

Customizing means your own copy

If an installed app doesn't quite fit how you work, you can customize it. That creates your team's own copy. It's yours, you change it in your own words, and it goes through the same check as any app you build. The published version stays untouched.

What's installed keeps running

If a team withdraws an app it shared in the App Store, the versions you've installed keep running. An app you work with doesn't disappear overnight.

It's yours

The code of every app you build lives as a git repository in your workspace. Your data can be exported. An exportable audit log records who changed what. You stay because it fits, not because you can't get out.

What a way back doesn't replace

A rollback makes a change reversible. It doesn't make it right. Whether a version is correct in substance is up to the team that approves it. If you'd like help with that, the Care and Premium support contracts are there.
